Q&A: Why Do You Use The Internet?

by Pastor Afolabi Oladele

These 3 questions were sent in by a reader. Pastor Afolabi answers the questions below. May the Lord Jesus give you insight as you read.

Questions:

1.  Please educate me on how this teaching links up with the internet and all these 1G, 2G etc.

2.  Why do you use the internet?

3.  Would all Muslims go to hell?

Response: Thanks dear friend. I sent you the BBC clip and there are several others in such publicly accepted media so that you can see the buildup of human attachment to and the ultimate end of internet connectivity, and artificial intelligence. A brilliant and inquisitive mind that you are, please do your own independent research on ‘internet of things’, ‘artificial intelligence’ in its three dimensions of development and where we are today with respect to self programming capabilities of suggesting solutions to problems the human has not even thought of. It is this ultimate capability of override of human mind that brings to the fore a centrally controlled utopia that separates from God. Below are a few sites.

I have personally researched this and participated at UNILAG AI fora, UNILAG being the foremost University in our neck of the woods. I have also seen applications in business in our country in the banking and non-banking financial services hence my assertiveness on the subject. The key to AI is essentially data gathering and data mining. Virtually all data is number based. You can also cross-check this independently. All the above is essentially dealing with your first question, and 1G, 2G etc is all about speed and bandwidth of communication and connectivity.

Why do I use the internet?

The present operating system in the world requires it so, to enable me and you function. But my knowledge of the Scriptures also warns me about the limits to avoid being trapped in an irreversible march to receiving the mark of the beast, which is the entire purpose of the teaching. In fact if the Lord does not intervene by His promised return, no one, I repeat no one, would escape the mark of the beast (Matthew 24:22). Therein lies my hope and the gospel that I preach, alerting all who would hear, to avail themselves of the way out. That’s why all who believe the gospel of Christ are admonished to obey Luke 21:36. Some things are not reversible by prayers in God’s plan to take back the reign over the world, under such situations we are asked to pray to be counted worthy to escape.

Your third question is the most gut wrenching when it comes to human rationalisation! Yet the answer is so simple and direct. The Bible remains my incontrovertible source on this and the answer lies in these Scriptures John 1:12, John 3:15-19, John 10:9, 11, 25-29; John 14:6. That’s why we are all commanded to tell the gospel to all and sundry because at this time God is actually appealing to, in fact begging all, Hindu, Muslim, atheist to accept the sacrifice that Christ made in the cross (2 Cor. 5:11, 15-20 (NLT/MSG). Anyone and all who reject this offer will go to hell. I, as a former Muslim raised and sufficiently knowledgeable in the tenets of Islam, found grace to have understood this, and it was an offer too good to be rejected. I took that decision to accept Christ as Lord and Saviour consciously in January 1969 and have grown progressively in the revelation of His will, and thankfully not I alone. As the eldest amongst 17 children, God has been kind that no less than a dozen of us have come to this saving grace. That’s a long answer but it was needful to be fully explicit.
