Are you shaken? There’s more shaking to come!
Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven! When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain. Hebrews 12:25-27 NLT. (see also Heb. 12:25-27 (TLB/AMPC).
The COVID_19 disaster, has in five months, April-August 2020 triggered unprecedent re-engineering of the human society. From face-masking which in the past was prevalent in the Far East from the days of VARS/SARS, to social-distancing, lock-downs and the way we work, all of the human society has been quarantined into a common mode either out of fear or just wanting to comply.
Like the saying of the Lord in Matthew 7:24-27, all have been subjected to the same conditions of rains, floods and winds.
For the married, has your home been built in a renewal and strengthening of relationships or shattered by spousal and parental aggression? (Malachi 2:11-16). There is hope, forgive one another and get help from godly people who can become accountability partners on your issues.
For the single have you gotten into intimacy with Him who said you are complete in Him and will never leave you nor forsake you? (Colossians 2: 10; Hebrews 13:5). Reach out to godly people who share your principles in godly living.
For the employed, have you lost your job. The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. (Isaiah 58: 11).
Have you lost a loved one, or in particular you’re a woman who has lost her husband and breadwinner? In Ruth 2:4-23, God looked down and saw this committed widow and sent help, providing a protector and provider when she was just looking to take care of her need and the need of others! He remains faithful if you are.
Finally remember, for those built upon the word of God, Psalm 91:5-6 holds.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. Psalm 91:5-6
