What Witness Are You Counting On? (Part 2)

Continuing from our last admonition, the second text in Matthew 17:5 speaking to the three apostles of the Lamb had an extension to it that should catch our attention –  This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

The ‘hear ye him’ or listen to Him connects and confirms to these disciples:

  1. That He is the one the laws referred to, as Moses declared in Deuteronomy 18:15 and was repeated in Acts 3:22The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet [Prophet] from the midst of your brethren like me [Moses]; to him you shall listen – and
  2. Confirming to them the answer to the question posed to them in Matthew 16:13-17

When you place these along with Isaiah 50:4-9 (AMPC)

[The Servant of God says] The Lord God has given Me the tongue of a disciple and of one who is taught, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He wakens Me morning by morning, He wakens My ear to hear as a disciple [as one who is taught]. The Lord God has opened My ear, and I have not been rebellious or turned backward. I gave My back to the smiters and My cheeks to those who plucked off the hair; I hid not My face from shame and spitting. For the Lord God helps Me; therefore, have I not been ashamed or confounded. Therefore, have I set My face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame. He is near Who declares Me in the right. Who will contend with Me? Let us stand forth together! Who is My adversary? Let him come near to Me. Behold, the Lord God will help Me; who is he who will condemn Me? Behold, they all will wax old and be worn out as a garment; the moth will eat them up.

it should become clear that if you do not hear from Him, you cannot regard yourself as His. Who do you listen to? To whose words have you yielded your life. These are extreme times of deception, but you have only one mediator, who you can approach freely.

For there [is only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 (AMPC)

So now we draw near freely and boldly to where grace is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness. Hebrews 4:16 (TPT)

O child of God if you are deceived, you must take responsibility for that seeing it is up to you to find the discipline to be available to God to hear Him speak to your life and guide you. Shalom.
