Watch Your Language!

by Pastor Afolabi Oladele

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4

Daniel 12:4b warns us of the increased hustling and increase of knowledge that will characterise the time of the end. Closely tied to this is the wise man’s statement in Ecclesiastes 7:29 and how true!

God created people to be virtuous, but they have each turned to follow their own downward path. Ecclesiastes 7:29 NLT

As there has been an increase in technology inventions so has there been an evolution in the new descriptive language, and except a child of God is perceiving, he or she will be off course in the path the Lord Jesus showed us to walk in.

In the former days, when people talk about brand it was always associated to name of a company or a product being promoted. Today clichés abound regarding the word brand. Ever heard such things as ‘promote your brand’ or ’don’t diminish your brand’ as applied to your person! Hearing this in application by a believing sister took me by surprise!

I hope you know that nobody, except you, can take away from who you are, who our Heavenly Father has made you. So why flaunt it or demand recognition from anyone. Of the King of glory, our blessed King, Apostle Paul in direct reference to the statements of the Lord in John 5:36 and John 10:25 wrote in Philippians 2:6-8 (NLT)

Though He was God,
    He did not think of equality with God
    as something to cling to.
 Instead, He gave up His divine privileges;
    He took the humble position of a slave
    and was born as a human being.
When He appeared in human form,
    He humbled Himself in obedience to God
    and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Philippians 2:6-8 NLT

This is instruction that any child of God must not trifle with. Let your light so shine, let your works speak to who you are. Be like Jesus, that’s our calling, not like the world.
