What does God say sexual immorality is?
The topic of 1 Corinthians 7:1–5 is sexual contact or “touching” (ἅπτω), which the ESV rightly translates as “sexual relations” (v 1). The idea is any kind of sexual contact, not just intercourse. Paul equates sexual relations/contact outside of marriage with “sexual immorality” (πορνεία) in verses 2 to 4—Taken from Biblical Culture
The Bible further states that sexual immorality is any sexual activity that happens outside of marriage. This includes adultery (infidelity) and fornication (premarital or extramarital sex). All of these actions are off-limits for those who follow Jesus (see 1 Corinthians 6:9, Acts 15:29, and Hebrews 13:4)—Taken from Focus On The Family
How is music, secular music connected here? Music’s connection to seduction and sexuality is complex and multifaceted, encompassing emotional intensification, dopamine release, stress reduction, and even evolutionary factors. By understanding these connections, we can better appreciate the role music plays in our romantic and sexual lives. Sharing music, specifically secular music as shown below with a potential partner (male or female) can create a sense of connection and intimacy, potentially leading to successful seduction.
Examples of such dangerous music range from:
- Love Songs—Many love songs are designed to evoke romantic feelings and create a sense of intimacy, making them a popular choice for seduction,
- Sensual Music—Music with a slow tempo, soft vocals, and romantic lyrics can create a sensual and intimate atmosphere, ideal for sexual encounters, to
- Dance Music—Dance music can be used to create a lively and energetic atmosphere, perfect for flirting and building attraction.
We take below, the first of the experiences taken from Bro. UBONG’S work.

He Wrote and Said…
Music is an organized sound pleasant to the ear, while song is just a short music.
So, in my writing I will make use of the word “music.”
Music can also be termed as an artistic form of communication incorporating musical instruments such as keyboard, saxophone, trumpets, drum and the like or vocal tone in a structural or continuous manner. These above listed instruments are standard protocol for communication between musical instruments and computers and there are different types of music such as spirit, fuji, reggae, hip-hop. All these together are termed secular or worldly music, and we have another type which is Gospel music.
Whether secular or Gospel music, all musical songs are inspired by a spirit, either demonic (Devil) or Holy Spirit (God) and have the capacity to or a means of captivating its listeners either in a godly way or worldly, depending on the source of its inspiration.
EFFECT OF SECULAR MUSIC ON ITS LISTENER:
Few years back probably 2017, I could still remember when one Nigerian artist released a song “Bobo snei.” Well I don’t know the meaning of “snei” but this song became so popular that when I went back home then for a brief holiday, I was told how formal secondary schools now practice cultism and named their occultist group bobo snei because they listen to the song; and maybe probably watched the video, and this cultist group used one of the signs displayed in the song as their sign and they began to victimize and force other fellow students such that it almost overcame the school fellowship and management.
This is a well-known school with good, moral, standard protocol but as a result of inspiration behind the song most students listen to it and it captivated them into evil practices….
- Inspired by the demons and prayed upon an altar of witchcraft before being released: All secular songs and music were inspired by demons and they have negative effects on the mind of its listeners by corrupting their heart and making evil practices seem like they are good
- Promote Indecent Dressing: It is no more a surprise to me how indecent dressing has been on the rise in our societies, this can be traced to inspiration behind the music they listen to and watch. Most if not all secular music displays indecent dressing in their videos and because it is inspired by demons, create the inroad for listeners to practice what they watch in the music
- It Promotes Lust and Evil Desires: Because secular music/songs were invoked by demons and also display half-naked dresses revealing sensitive parts of the body, lust sets in with ease on the mind of its listeners and as a result of the consummation of the lust, evil desires set in
- It promotes triggers of masturbation, bisexuality, lesbianism and homosexuality: Secular music/songs such as spirit song by Beyonce displayed sensitive parts of the body and also exposed its listeners to masturbation and porn, for those who don’t visit porn site for porn videos, all they have to do is to get the videos of songs of Beyonce, Mini Minaj etc to watch and before you know what happened, Sister Mary is also fondling her body and inserting foreign materials into her vagina and my beloved Brother Gabriel is already jerking his penis as a result of demonic inspiration that backed up those songs
- It leads to backsliding of believers: Any believer that listens to worldly songs or “fans” worldly music artists is closer to his/her spiritual grave because you can’t claim to be a child of God and be dining with devil.
- Gospel music and songs: This music is inspired by God and backed up by Holy spirit, prayed upon on the altar of holiness and righteousness.
No wonder Apostle Paul admonished believers to always encourage one another in hymns and psalmist songs because of their numerous healthy benefits to the mind.
EFFECT OF GOSPEL MUSIC TO THE MIND:
- It Gladdens The Heart: Gospel music gives joy to the heart when listening to it
- It Encourages Listeners: Have you ever been confused and sorrowful thinking all hope is lost? My beloved brother, just listen to gospel songs and sing from your Church hymns & songs and life will come back to you again, hope and encouragement will come again. No wonder the scripture admonishes us to encourage each other in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs (Colossians 3:16b)
- It Enhances Its Listeners’ Deliverance: Just take a good look at Saul in the Bible, anytime the evil spirit entered him all he needed was for David to play his musical instrument for him and the evil spirit will give way. Are you possessed with demonic spirit and find it tough to be freed? My beloved sister just tune-up to Gospel music site and play and see maybe that demon will not find his way out (1 Samuel 16:14-23)
- It draws or moves God to intervene in someone’s situation: When the Israelites went into battle with their enemies all what God instructed king Jehoshaphat to do was to appoint singers to sing unto the Lord and before you know what happened, their enemies were defeated hands down. If your heart is sorrowful and your body bent beneath the load of care just cultivate a heart of thanks and praises to God and your way will be cleared. Remember Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25-26
- It Lifts Up Someone’s Mind: For Joshua and the Israelites to pass through Jericho all they needed was for the elders to blow trumpets and shout for the mighty walls of Jericho to fall down flat (Joshua 6:2-6)…not prayers and fasting, not quoting the scripture but just blow the trumpet and shout for the wall to fall down flat and after the wall is down dejected faces look bright, discouraged minds were lifted, no wonder the psalmist says, make a joyful song unto the Lord
- It promotes godliness and good prayer points: In one of my night when praying all good prayer points I needed were from my Church hymns and songs app and the Lord intervened.
IN CONCLUSION: If Jesus is truly your Lord as you have professed Him to be, it’s high time you put away all secular worldly music from your phone and room and cultivate the heart of listening to Gospel music…. for that lust to be overcome, listen to Gospel music as you pray alongside.**
Shalom.
