For the kingdom is the Lord’s: and he is the governor among the nations. Psalm 22:28

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth. Psalm 83:18

In Psalm 22:28, David pays tribute to God’s sovereignty as Lord above all kings and rulers, and in control of all nations! Wow, but not only of nations, but of all the elements, enough to make His disciples, in shock, to declare in Matthew 8:27

Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great and wonderful calm (a perfect peaceableness). And the men were stunned with bewildered wonder and marveled, saying, what kind of Man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him! Matthew 8:26-27 (AMPC) (see also Mark 4:41)

Job 38:31-33 and Isaiah 40:26 (AMPC) also declare

Can you bind the chains of [the cluster of stars called] Pleiades, or loose the cords of [the constellation] Orion? Can you lead forth the signs of the zodiac in their season? Or can you guide [the stars of] the Bear with her young? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule upon the earth? Job 38:31-33 (AMPC)

Lift up your eyes on high and see! Who has created these? He Who brings out their host by number and calls them all by name; through the greatness of His might and because He is strong in power, not one is missing or lacks anything. Isaiah 40:26 (AMPC)

Beyond what the eyes behold the elements of nature do, there is the superior power, who determines outcomes, upon whom our decision should depend? He knows better than we know, sees what we cannot see, that it is foolish to depend on our predictions (Ecclesiastes 11:4). Jesus warned against such presumptions when He spoke to the scribe and the Pharisee in Matthew 16:3 who were demanding more evidence when so much was already provided.

Oh saint, dearly beloved, seek His face, ask His help and go do what you need to do (Psalm 37:5). Lord, I commit this step I’m about to take into Your hands. Please guide me and let the outcome be to Your glory. If I delight in Him, He will give me the desires of my heart. When He says wait, then wait (verse 7). Shalom
