The Cave Of Adullam

by Pastor Afolabi Oladele

Good morning dearly beloved.

Let’s look at Adullam, that place of gathering of the undesirables.

Adullam spoken to in 1 Samuel 22:1-2 was a placing of gathering of those men considered undesirables who endured the ignominy of the cave. They reigned with David in his kingdom.

David was the anointed king who had to hide in the cave of Adullam with 400 undesirables (men who were in distress, men who were in debt, men who were discontented)…almost mimicking the things that were spoken by the Lord through the mouth of Apostle James in James 2:5.

Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

Those things that we will trample upon…these are men not to be reckoned with in the ways of the world.

Just as Paul was also writing in 1 Corinthians 1:27b, God chose the weak things of this world, the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.

These men left in low estate by the misrule of rejected King Saul, the undesirables, were however attracted to God’s anointed. What a beautiful picture of our Redeemer, the Governor of all nations, the God of all creation, who also is in hiding today while the usurper Satan is wrecking havoc.

What a picture of the call to all true sons of God, bought by the Blood and who have not sold out to the god of this world. They are to gather unto Him, gather unto the Lord, gather unto the Anointed who of necessity must remain in hiding until the fullness of times.

If you can, dear brother, dear sister, consider this time as a time for you to gather in His presence, gather together around Him, learn from His presence in this time of lock down, be a testimony to Him.

Let us remember that the word of God told us that where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them, not the large numbers. This family reunion that God is ordaining for all, let’s take advantage of it. Let’s change the narrative from large gatherings to that which has been ordained from the beginning of times — where two or three are gathered in My name, there I will be with them.

Gather unto the Lord.
Let’s seek Him. Let’s show forth His power.
Let’s tell of us His goodness and as we pray we’ll get answers.

God bless you
