Such Awesome Wonder, Glory And Power (Part 3)

Isaiah saw You and wrote in Isaiah 6:5:

Then I stammered and said, “Woe is me! I’m destroyed—doomed as a sinful man! For my words are tainted and I live among people who talk the same way. King Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies! My eyes have gazed upon him!

Peter beheld and cried in Luke 5:8:

When Simon Peter saw this astonishing miracle, he knelt at Jesus’ feet and begged him, “Go away from me, Master, for I am a sinful man!”

They saw Your awesome power, glory and purity expressed not in words but in such appearance that brought out our inferiority, inadequacy and impurity that drive us into nothing but humble worship and obeisance. O Lord, may we not grow too tall beyond ourselves. Little wonder that presumption and pride are so contrary to Your nature that You despise them. These are the traits that turned Lucifer to Satan!

Yet the same Peter, like many of us today and by the account of Matthew 16:21-24:

From then on Jesus began to clearly reveal to his disciples that he was destined to go to Jerusalem and suffer injustice from the elders, leading priests, and religious scholars. He also explained that he would be killed and three days later be raised to life again.Peter took him aside to correct him privately. He reprimanded Jesus over and over, saying to him, “God forbid, Master! Spare yourself. You must never let this happen to you!”Jesus turned to Peterand said, “Get out of my way, you Satan! You are a hindrance to me,because your thoughts are only filled with man’s viewpoints and not with the ways of God.”Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If you truly want to follow me, you should at once completely reject and disown your own life. And you must be willing to share my cross and experience it as your own,as you continually surrender to my ways.

Do not be carried away to the point that His friendship is taken as license for equality! No, we are not equal to Him. Please see the construct of John 15:15 and Romans 11:33-36!
