So now that you understand, will you recognize the day of your visitation, seizing the occasion?
This is what the disciples witnessed in that day in the disaffection of the crowd when the multitude not understanding the divine circumstances playing out, fell away (John 6:47-69).
The forerunner of our blessed Redeemer, for all the prophetic accolades that heralded him, never made the honors roll of faith when he missed that unique moment. Sobering isn’t it? (Matthew 11:2-11, Luke 7:19-28).
Oh, as the song writer sang, “judge not the Lord with feeble minds, but trust Him for His grace.” God is His own interpreter and He will make it plain. Men like Paul understood and seized the moment testifying as he did in 2 Corinthians 1:8-10. For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us. 2 Corinthians 1:8-10.
Words fail me other than to pray that each of us partaking of this exhortation will not miss the day of our visitation. Selah.
