Seeing Through The Proper Lenses (Part 1)—John 8:12,13

One of the most revealing statements of the Lord made to His disciples about this present world was in John 14:30 (AMPC)—I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, and he has no power over Me.]

The apostles elaborated on this, Paul wrote—

For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers’ minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God. 2 Corinthians 4:4 (AMPC)

In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God]. Ephesians 2;2 (AMPC)

and Apostle John capped it in 1 John 5:19 (AMPC)—We know [positively] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] is under the power of the evil one.

Little wonder that the Lord prayed for us in John 17:11, 15-16 (AMPC)—And [now] I am no more in the world, but these are [still] in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep in Your Name [in the knowledge of Yourself] those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We [are one]… I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world.

In the throes of daily living how many live in the reality painted by the Lord? I wonder if many of us are not like those the Lord referred to in John 9:39! Unless and until you begin to see this world and everything in it through the lenses of the Lord, you are blind and are destined to judgment.

Please ponder on the following scriptures, Psalms 4:6; Psalms 36:9; Psalms 80:7; Psalms 90:8; Jeremiah 2:13; Jeremiah 17:13 and Ephesians 5:8. These are witnesses from the prophets and the apostles affirming that it is only in Jesus Christ, the Light of the world, that we see thoroughly and clearly through the darkness of this world. Why would you stumble when the Light is saying, I am available, seek Me and live by Me? Selah
