The following scriptures speak to specifics acts of the word of God:
And we also [especially] thank God continually for this, that when you received the message of God [which you heard] from us, you welcomed it not as the word of [mere] men, but as it truly is, the Word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its superhuman power in those who adhere to and trust in and rely on it]. 1 Thessalonians 2:13 (AMPC)
Since by your obedience to the Truth through the[Holy] Spirit you have purified your hearts for the sincere affection of the brethren, [see that you] love one another fervently from a pure heart. You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God. For all flesh (mankind) is like grass, and all its glory (honor) like [the] flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower drops off, But the Word of the Lord (divine instruction, the Gospel) endures forever. And this Word is the good news which was preached to you. 1 Peter 1:22-25
The word of God is an immortal seed, with life-giving power, working in the lives of those who believe it, trusting it. The word of God produces in them endless life! Because the word of God is a living seed, it produces life in those in who He lives. The life-giving power of the word of God is illustrated in the parables of the sower in Matthew 13 and Luke 8, that sown in a receptive soil, springs into multiplied harvest, though we don’t know how that happens. Isaiah 55:11 affirms the harvest will come but according to God’s will, time and strategy.
The word of God is not only productive, it is creative as portrayed in Genesis 1:3,6 and reaffirmed in 2 Peter 3:5—For they willfully overlook and forget this [fact], that the heavens [came into] existence long ago by the word of God, and the earth also which was formed out of water and by means of water.
Powerful enough to bring things into being without any struggle, striving or sweat. This is the same word that Romans 10:8 affirms—But what does it say? The Word (God’s message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach.
Will you cultivate the habit of speaking the word to your issues, not your words nor your thoughts. Bring about the change you want by speaking the word of God only and see what results. Shalom.
