Looking At The Course Of Our Lives In The End-Times (Part 3)

It is meet that we end this week considering how close we are to the Lord’s intent for us on this life journey. Let us consider these two scriptures, Galatians 1:15-16 and Hebrews 12:1-3.

Galatians 1:15-16 (TPT) – But then God called me by his grace, and chose me from my birth to be his. He was pleased to unveil his Son in me so that I would proclaim him to the peoples of the world. After I had this encounter, I kept it a secret for some time, sharing it with no one.

The writer of the letter to the Hebrews picked up the refrain in this beautiful song that Paul began to pen.

Hebrews 12:1-3 (TPT) – As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us. We look away from the natural realm and we focus our attention and expectation onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God! So consider carefully how Jesus faced such intense opposition from sinners who opposed their own souls, so that you won’t become worn down and cave in under life’s pressures.

We see the beginning of life journey with faith birthed in us and progressing towards faith perfection; the transformation of a vessel or container to the body or abode through which the life of Christ is fully expressed! Paul puts it in more direct language in Galatians 2:20 – that intimate communion with Christ whereby He not only dwells inside of me but acting through me. It is living on earth in an emptied human body, but animated by the indwelling presence of the Saviour who gave proof of self-sacrificing love.

This life journey is a marathon race run emptied of the burdens or wounds of little arrows that have pierced us, wounds or hurts by rulers, or society or family amongst who we live. This race is run here on the terrestrial but commanded from above by God who in Psalms 32:8-9 (TPT) says:

I hear the Lord saying, “I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!”

Please ponder these words, setting them as a mirror to see where we are compared to what my Lord desires of each of us. It’s not an easy road, hence the charge to pursue with endurance. Let us receive grace so we walk to give Him pleasure as He found pleasure in our Lord and Saviour. Selah.
