Continuing with the same text, we note particularly the outward manifestation of such life union in Paul’s statement to the Corinthian believers
As surely as God is faithful, our word to you does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory. 2 Corinthians 1:18-20 (NLT)
Tope Alabi in one of her songs put it this way (translated from Yoruba) “He is the amen, and we are the evidence.” But it goes beyond just words as the following scriptures show those in this life union are carriers, conductors and conveyors of the power of Christ:
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT)
I will give you all the proof you want that Christ speaks through me. Christ is not weak when he deals with you; he is powerful among you. Although he was crucified in weakness, he now lives by the power of God. We, too, are weak, just as Christ was, but when we deal with you we will be alive with him and will have God’s power. 2 Corinthians 13:3,4 (NLT)
I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great his power is to help those who believe him. It is that same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in heaven, far, far above any other king or ruler or dictator or leader. Yes, his honor is far more glorious than that of anyone else either in this world or in the world to come. Ephesians 1:19-21 (TLB)
Last of all I want to remind you that your strength must come from the Lord’s mighty power within you. Ephesians 6:10 (TLB)
I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!…He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control. Philippians 3:10,21 (NLT)
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
Being in life union with Him transforms us from spineless believers to the church through whom His power as described in Ephesians 3:10 will be effected. Enough of our excuses. Shalom.
