Knowing God (Part 2)

  1. John 1:14 (TPT)—And so the Living Expression became a man and lived among us! We gazed upon his glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the Father overflowing with tender mercy and truth!
  2. Hebrews 1:3 (TPT)—The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature—his mirror image! He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of his spoken word. He accomplished for us the complete cleansing of sins, and then took his seat on the highest throne at the right hand of the majestic One.
  3. Revelation 4:2-3 (TPT)—Instantly I was taken into the spirit realm, and behold—I saw a heavenly throne being set in place and someone seated upon it. His appearance was sparkling like crystal and glowing like a carnelian gemstone. Surrounding the throne was a circle of green light, like an emerald rainbow.

These three scriptures define the glory of God as against the features recognizable in a human form! They set the stage for us to understand the transition arrangement between the role of the risen Saviour as the great High Priest who sat at the right hand of the throne of God, until the fullness of the dispensation of time spoken to in Ephesians 1:10 —And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.

Hebrews 7:24-8:1 (TPT)—But Jesus permanently holds his priestly office, since he lives forever and will never have a successor! So he is able to save fully from now throughout eternity, everyone who comes to God through him, because he lives to pray continually for them. He is the High Priest who perfectly fits our need—holy, without a trace of evil, without the ability to deceive, incapable of sin, and exalted beyond the heavens! Unlike the former high priests, he is not compelled to offer daily sacrifices. They had to bring a sacrifice first for their own sins, then for the sins of the people, but he finished the sacrificial system, once and for all, when he offered himself. The law appointed flawed men as high priests, but God’s promise, sealed with his oath, which succeeded the law, appoints a perfect Son who is complete forever! Now this is the crowning point of what we are saying: We have a magnificent King-Priest who ministers for us at the right hand of God. He is enthroned with honor next to the throne of the Majesty on high

This is the plan of God that in the period of time between His resurrection and the time of Ephesians 1:10, the period that is characterized by the life challenges we face, men should pray to God, the only way of escape and protection from the consequences of the misrule of Satan and his agents worldwide!

This is why the Lord asked in Luke 18:5-8 (NLT)—Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?

There is an appointed time for answers to our prayers for succor in our challenges! Every one of the apostles understood this, and James’ admonition in James 1:1-8 affirms the same truth viz:

  1. God does not and cannot fail; therefore
  2. You also cannot fail if the faith of Christ is in you—John 16:33; 1 John 5:4.

For us it is often how long O Lord whereas with Him, it is done. Oh, that we may see with His eyes and be aligned with His thoughts in these challenging days. Endurance, perseverance produces maturity. Think on these things knowing that the times call for us to pray and not to faint. Selah.

Oh Lord help my unbelief. Please let me see with your eyes. Please give me a single eye to focus on eternity as this makes everything to fall in place. Amen
