Knowing God (Part 1)

The scriptures and the Lord Jesus in many scriptures affirmed that He is the manifestation of who God is!

  1. John 1:14 (TPT)And so the Living Expression became a man and lived among us! We gazed upon his glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the Father overflowing with tender mercy and truth!
  2. John 14:8-11 (TPT)Philip spoke up, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be all that we need!” Jesus replied, “Philip, I’ve been with you all this time and you still don’t know who I am? How could you ask me to show you the Father, for anyone who has looked at me has seen the Father. Don’t you believe that the Father is living in me and that I am living in the Father? Even my words are not my own but come from my Father, for he lives in me and performs his miracles of power through me. Believe that I live as one with my Father and that my Father lives as one with me—or at least, believe because of the mighty miracles I have done.
  3. John 17:3, 6-8 (TPT)Eternal life means to know and experience you as the only true God, and to know and experience Jesus Christ, as the Son whom you have sent… Father, I have manifested who you really are and I have revealed you to the men and women that you gave to me. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have fastened your Word firmly to their hearts. And now at last they know that everything I have is a gift from you, And the very words you gave to me to speak. I have passed on to them. They have received your words and carry them in their hearts. They are convinced that I have come from your presence, and they have fully believed that you sent me to represent you.
  4. Hebrews 1:3 (TPT)The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature—his mirror image! He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of his spoken word. He accomplished for us the complete cleansing of sins, and then took his seat on the highest throne at the right hand of the majestic One.

This is the God that paid our debt of sin, by virtue of which all who accepted His sacrifice are made sons, yet just as Jesus was tested, so will every one called into sonship be tested. This is the object of James’ treatise. Note:

My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up in you the power of endurance. And then as your endurance grows even stronger, it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.James 1:2-4 (TPT)

Ponder on this, assimilate it and see how your life is responding to the challenges of today. If there is a gap, it time to ask the Lord to change your perception. Shalom.
