Knowing Christ and Power (Part 1)

In a world where logic is preferred to God’s revealed truth, and secular idolatry contends with the true God, a challenge poses like the confrontation between Elijah and Jezebel’s prophets of Baal. We are in the season of Daniel 11:32, emphasis on “but the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits”. The operating verb here is KNOW, and the result of knowing is strength to contend and doing great exploits! This is a journey of discovery and a prayer for belief in the written testimony concerning our Lord God, Adonai, Yahweh Sabaoth. Ponder on these scriptures:

  • 2 Corinthians 13:3-4 (AMPC)—Since you desire and seek [perceptible] proof of the Christ Who speaks in and through me. [For He] is not weak and feeble in dealing with you but is a mighty power within you; for though He was crucified in weakness, yet He goes on living by the power of God. And though we too are weak in Him [as He was humanly weak], yet in dealing with you [we shall show ourselves] alive and strong in [fellowship with] Him by the power of God.
  • 2 Corinthians 4:7 (AMPC)—However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.

The power is the treasure (a treasure is kept from thieves; how well are you holding and guarding the gospel of Christ) for the exceeding greatness of its power is of God!

  • 2 Corinthians 1:19-20 (AMPC)—For the Son of God, Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who has been preached among you by us, by myself, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not Yes and No; but in Him it is [always the divine] Yes. For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason, we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God. Christ is the AMEN, and we are the manifestation, if we confess to His presence.

Beloved, the gospel of Christ is the power of God, and the proclamation of this divine light is the trigger to the power that gives the strength to do exploits. It is time we started believing this and doing the proclamation of the same to behold the power in action as we speak JESUS. This is the revelation behind the Charity Gayle’s song, I speak Jesus. Speak that name till every dark addiction is broken, breaking every stronghold; the name shines through the shadows, burning like a fire. Behold, it is time to speak that name JESUS. Selah
