In The Steps of The Leader (Part 2)

Again John 10:4 demands that we set our eyes, our gaze on the Shepherd Lord going before us! With fixed purpose, look straight ahead, listen keenly for the Master’s voice, ignoring life’s distractions for out of the mouth of the Lord alone comes knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:6).

Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions. Watch where you’re going! Stick to the path of truth, and the road will be safe and smooth before you. Don’t allow yourself to be sidetracked for even a moment or take the detour that leads to darkness (Proverbs 4:25-27 (TPT).

There are strangers’ voices all around us, so learn from Proverbs 4:23-27(TPT) beginning with the thoughts and intents of the heart, wisdom demands that you govern:

  1. your speech (vs. 24)
  2. your eyes (vs. 25) and
  3. your feet (vs. 26-27)

“So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life. Avoid dishonest speech and pretentious words. Be free from using perverse words no matter what!” No lies (Proverbs 12:22).

Reflect Him who you gaze upon intently, whose voice you hear; you will then understand the why of Proverbs 11:20—They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

Avoid the forward heart and the forward mouth! The froward mouth belongs to a naughty, evilly disposed and wicked person; and a man with a forward heart is regularly thinking and acting contrary to God’s word. Such a man is an abomination to God! He is wilful and disobedient! Avoid such people who are habitually disposed to disobedience. Avoid pretentious words and dishonest speech.

May the Great Shepherd help us, not to have a forward heart, a forward mouth, neither be in the company of such! Shalom.
