I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. John 16:33 NLT
The worst thing a believer can afflict himself with is to lose sight of the assurance that the Lord gave in our text. From the darkness of error, stems first the darkness of sorrow. Why? When we refuse the rest granted by the WORD of God, we are subject to the dangers highlighted by Apostle Paul in Ephesians 4:14, 15 (TLB).
Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth. Instead, we will lovingly follow the truth at all times—speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly—and so become more and more in every way like Christ who is the Head of his body, the Church. Ephesians 4:14-15 TLB
Be it religious or political wind, you will respond with your own designs falling prey to the warning in Isaiah 50:11. But see here, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves from your own fires and not from God’s; you will live among sorrows. Isaiah 50:11
If the darkness of sorrows comes from God, who can deliver except God alone! Why afflict yourself with the darkness of sorrows when God promises light to shine in darkness? Oh, beloved child of the Most High, return because God has not destined us for death but for life (John 10:10). Selah.
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10 NLT
The thief’s purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness. John.10:10 (TLB).
