Gleanings from Paul’s Testimony (Part 2)

In these days of confusion regarding who is called of the Lord, Paul’s encounter with the Lord gives us clarity regarding His manner of calling of the called. Consider from verse 15 —

And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: but shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.Acts 26:15-20

— very clearly defined purpose and detailed instructions of what God wants to do and how Paul will receive instructions regarding how He will do it:

  1. What is seen now
  2. What the Lord will yet reveal because of the limited capacity of the human mind to contain and endure if all was to be shown at once, and
  3. The dangers associated to accomplishing the defined assignment as well as the promise of protection.

Every true servant of God has a clear mandate to turn men from darkness to light, from the power of Satan (openly proclaimed today in the bait of mammon). This is the true test of who is called of God and is walking in obedience to the call! Oh, be warned, dearly beloved and stay clear of the multitude of spiritual swindlers, so-called apostles, prophets, pastors and teachers who sing no other song than the song of the world! John the beloved said so much in 1 John 4:5,6 so you can clearly understand the spirit of error ravaging the church —

They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:5,6

You can no longer claim ignorance. So, I ask, to whom have you committed the leadership of your life? Is he leading you towards Christ, or towards the demon god of earthly riches? Selah.
