Concerning The Times In Nigeria (Part 1)—1 Kings 18

Can we survive 7 years of such tough times as Nigeria has faced in the first months of 2024? My answer is Yes, because there is a place for the people who have not bowed to Baal! In the realm of daily needs, we are prone to physical exhaustion, but God trains us to faith, the speaking—if you shall say unto this mountain (Mark 11:23; Acts 16:16-18) and the following of instructions we receive in our daily contact with Him.

Those who would remain in their place of assignment where provision has been prepared by the spoken word sent to God’s appointed providers will see God’s faithfulness! This is not proclaiming provision without working. Yet in the place of working:

  • faith remains the key. When the need arose to pay temple taxes, Jesus sent Peter in the exercise of his tested labour as a fisherman! (Matthew 17:24-27). Peter simply followed the instruction received of the Lord and got the result of faith in the instructions of the Lord;
  • persistent faith opens the door. Elijah in 1 Kings 17, was in his assignment as conveyor of God’s message in verse 14-16. Faith is the trigger or prompter to awaken the appointed provider!

Everything that God created is primed to hear Him! Even the rock can hear (Numbers 20:8). Even so for us, under delegated authority, everything God created hears us when we speak commissioned words. Elijah spoke to the widow. Spoken words, God’s words were sufficient and when we speak His words, the words bring results! (Isaiah 55:11). Your labours alone spent on daily needs will exhaust you, but follow the sequence specified in Matthew 6:33 and you’ll get the results needed to survive the times. Shalom.
