Every lifting up of your eyes on high is an acknowledgement of our great Father, but do you understand it so? Elihu in Job 36:22-33 demonstrates that the geographical cycles have been known long before science codified or recorded them.
Do you have any idea how powerful God is? Have you ever heard of a teacher like him? Has anyone ever had to tell him what to do, or correct him, saying, ‘You did that all wrong!’? Remember, then, to praise his workmanship, which is so often celebrated in song. Everybody sees it; nobody is too far away to see it.
Take a long, hard look. See how great he is—infinite, greater than anything you could ever imagine or figure out!
He pulls water up out of the sea, distills it, and fills up his rain-cloud cisterns. Then the skies open up and pour out soaking showers on everyone. Does anyone have the slightest idea how this happens? How he arranges the clouds, how he speaks in thunder? Just look at that lightning, his sky-filling light show illumining the dark depths of the sea! These are the symbols of his sovereignty, his generosity, his loving care. He hurls arrows of light, taking sure and accurate aim. The High God roars in the thunder, angry against evil. Job 36:22-33 (MSG)
Consider yet again Psalm 50:1-14 (TPT)—The God of gods, the mighty Lord himself, has spoken! He shouts out over all the people of the earth in every brilliant sunrise and every beautiful sunset, saying, “Listen to me!” God’s glory-light shines out of the Zion-realm [The Aramaic text can be translated “Out of Zion God has shown a glorious crown] with the radiance of perfect beauty. With the rumble of thunder he approaches; he will not be silent, for he comes with an ear splitting sound! All around him are furious flames of fire, and preceding him is the dazzling blaze of his glory. Here he comes to judge his people! He summons his court with heaven and earth as his jury, saying, “Gather all my devoted lovers, my godly ones whose hearts are one with me— those who have entered into my holy covenant by sacrifices upon the altar.” And the heavens declare his justice: “God himself will be their judge, and he will judge them with righteousness!” “Listen to me, O my people! Listen well, for I am your God! I am bringing you to trial, and here are my charges. [This summons to judgment is not against the heathen nations but against God’s people. See 1 Peter 4:17.] I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices, which you continually bring to my altar. Do I need your young bulls or goats from your fields as if I were hungry? Every animal of field and forest belongs to me, the Creator. I know every movement of the birds in the sky, and every animal of the field is in my thoughts. The entire world and everything it contains is mine. If I were hungry, do you think I would tell you? For all that I have created, the fullness of the earth, is mine. Am I fed by your sacrifices? Of course not! Why don’t you bring me the sacrifices I desire? Bring me your true and sincere thanks, and show your gratitude by keeping your promises to me, the Most High.
From the mouth of Haggai, He declares in Haggai 2:8 (CEV)—All silver and gold belong to me.
These scriptures are but few of the pointers to the expectation raised by Solomon’s declaration—children are the pride of their parents. What you are proud of, you will boast of, and there is the challenge, the place where we rob God our Father. There is room for us to intentionally boast of God our Father.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7
My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. Psalm 34:2
In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah. Psalm 44:8
Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord. Jeremiah 9:23-24
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 1:31
But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 2 Corinthians 10:17
This is not the time to rob Him of His glory! Selah
