See what the Lord has done,
Can you see what the Lord has done
What we waited for has come to pass
See what the Lord has done (on your wedding day you gonna sing that)
Can you see what the Lord has done?
Our posting of today is inspired by the testimony of a sister who was set up to fail by mocking friends. Given a time barred fund-raising assignment, they were waiting to shut down the project because it was believed she would fail; and indeed on the closure date, the sister was totally oblivious of God’s acts in the unknown.
Sister B had against all objections from family sown beyond her means in the life of a ‘stranger’ (an old friend who came from a foreign land to get medical attention); unconsciously fulfilling Proverbs 19:17. This ‘stranger’ friend was aware of the project Sister B was promoting. On returning to her country had sent Sister B a mail pledging just about the money needed to make the project move forward! So the Lord shamed the mockers who were waiting for Sister B’s prayers to work.
Brother Watchman Nee wrote concerning the testimony of the Lord—‘The testimony is the self-revelation of God. In other words, it represents God’s heart desire or rather His standard. His standard reveals Himself showing us what a God He is’. This is the meeting place of Psalm 19:7 (ESV) and Proverbs 19:21 (TPT).
- Psalm 19:7 (AMPC)—The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the [whole] person; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
- Proverbs 19:21(AMPC)—Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.
O that as children of covenant, we are not just drifting through life; God has our individual lives in focus, our many ideas concerning what His plans for us may be notwithstanding. Only His designs will succeed at the end. This is where the words of Nathanael Bassey’s 2022 song quoted above come in.
So, why not start by asking His help so we can fulfill our days according to what plan He has written for each of us as declared in Psalm 139:16 (NLT). No idolatrous pursuits anymore, nor reacting to situations of life that we face by anger and anxiety, nor by complaints; rather a pursuit of purpose and desire to be wholly dedicated to the Lord our God. His testimony is sure. Selah.
