The Secret of Joy

by Pastor Afolabi Oladele

I do not know it all, Lord; but every time You correct me, teaching me of Your righteous judgment, I choose to respond correctly to all Your word reveals.

Those who are blameless in their walk, in total integrity to the revealed word, have only one passion, to please God with all their heart. Such are described by our text of today—You’re only truly happy when you walk in total integrity, walking in the light of God’s Word. What joy overwhelms everyone who keeps the ways of God, those who seek him as their heart’s passion! They’ll never do what’s wrong but will always choose the paths of the Lord. God has prescribed the right way to live: obeying his laws with all our hearts. How I long for my life to bring you glory as I follow each and every one of your holy precepts! Then I’ll never be ashamed, for I take strength from all your commandments. I will give my thanks to you from a heart of love and truth. And every time I learn more of your righteous judgments, I will be faithful to all that your Word reveals—so don’t ever give up on me! Psalm 119:1-8 (TPT)

God, not the dark ruler of this earthly realm, has prescribed the right way to live; obeying Him is the only way we bring Him glory, giving Him thanks from a heart of love and truth. In these times in walking with God there can be no compromise. In our relationship with friends, family, and the world, we must be mindful of Psalms 1:1-6, David’s instruction to his son, Solomon—

What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways! He won’t walk in step with the wicked, nor share the sinner’s way, nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat. His passion is to remain true to the Word of “I AM,” meditating day and night on the true revelation of light. He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous. But how different are the wicked. They are like chaff blown away by the wind. The wicked will not endure the day of judgment, for God will not defend them. Nothing they do will succeed or endure for long, for they have no part with those who walk in truth. But how different it is for the righteous! The Lord embraces their paths as they move forward while the way of the wicked leads only to doom.

Solomon will teach the same as recorded in Proverbs 13:20-21 (TPT)—If you want to grow in wisdom, spend time with the wise. Walk with the wicked and you’ll eventually become just like them. Calamity chases the sin-chaser, but prosperity pursues the God-lover.

Who are you, what do you choose to be, sin-chaser or God-lover? Your choice positions you to enjoy the secret of joy. Shalom.

Thank You sir for this God’s message unto us today.

I feel and know have short paid myself by not walking in totality with God. I felt I could do things on my own terms but now I know different .

A life without God’s total control is already a failed life and can never experience God’s joy unto His obedient Children .

    Help me Oh God .
