Let us bring home the significance of Paul’s prayer for every believer from the things that happened to Israel in the days of the Lord, drawing an important lesson for all in these times.

I have never stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you wisdom to see clearly and really understand who Christ is and all that he has done for you.  I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of the future he has called you to share. I want you to realize that God has been made rich because we who are Christ’s have been given to him! I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great his power is to help those who believe him. It is that same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in heaven, far, far above any other king or ruler or dictator or leader. Yes, his honor is far more glorious than that of anyone else either in this world or in the world to come.Ephesians 1:17-21 (TLB)

Without His light there is no knowing! At the very first revelation of who He is, God expressly answered Moses in Exodus 3:13-14.

And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you! Exodus 3:13-14 (AMPC)

When He came to Israel, virtually half of the records in the gospel of John recorded Him introducing Himself but they could not recognise Him, neither by the open statements He made nor by the works He did!

• I AM-the Bread of Life (John 6:35)
• I AM-the Light of the world (John 8:12)
• I AM-the door (John 10:9)
• I AM-the good Shepherd (John 10:11,14)
• I AM-the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25)
• I AM-the Way and the Truth and the Life (John 14:6)
• I AM-the Vine (John 15:1,5)

Not only to His disciples, but to the entire nation of Israel as well as the religious leaders, did He proclaim this in the extensive conversation recorded in John 8 verses 24 and 58.

That is why I told you that you will die in (under the curse of) your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He [Whom I claim to be–if you do not adhere to, trust in, and rely on Me], you will die in your sins…Jesus replied, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, before Abraham was born, I AM. John 8:24,58 (AMPC)

Oh that our hearts be flooded with His light so we can see Him at work even with the events of our days as traumatic and challenging as they seem. DO NOT BE CARRIED AWAY BY THE LETTERS, THEY KILL, ONLY THE SPIRIT GIVES LIGHT AND LIFE. Sadly, the religious leaders who had the Torah lacked the Light and the Spirit.

This infuriated them and made them all the more eager to devise a plan to kill him. For not only did he break their Sabbath rules, but he also called God “my Father,” which made him equal to God. John 5:18 (TPT)

What about you, dear friend? Are you walking with your heart flooded with His light and wisdom or are you walking in your sensual appreciation of the times? The days are evil, it is crucial to see right and that comes only by His Light. Shalom.
