As a student such appellation as ‘strong in’ defines a student as being very good or excelling in a subject. Such statements as ‘oh, Ayo is strong in chemistry,’ Sade is ‘strong in biology’ are not uncommon, but in a temporal or earthly race!
In the race of life, the eternal life that Jesus gives, what are you strong in?
I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)…And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. [To all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed.] And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand. My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all [else]; and no one is able to snatch [them] out of the Father’s hand. John 10:10b, 28-29 (AMPC).
For all who have received this life there is only one thing you must be strong in.
Apostle Paul majored in this one thing constantly teaching it and reminding us of it; our absolute and total dependence on the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Timothy, my dear son, live your life empowered God’s free-flowing grace, which is your true strength, found in the anointing of Jesus and your union with him! 2 Timothy 2:1(TPT)
To the elders of Ephesus, he had this to say in Acts 20:32 (TPT)
And so now, I entrust you into God’s hands and the message of his grace, [The Aramaic is “the manifestation of grace] which is all that you need to become strong [Or “to build you up,” a Greek word taken from the root word for “architect”]. All of God’s blessings are imparted through the message of his grace, which he provides as the spiritual inheritance given to all of his holy ones.
So dearly beloved, what are you strong in? Selah.
