Aluta continua is a common saying in our clime, but I ask, struggle for what, or over what? What it is invariably is this world bound! Think about it, true of false!
Let’s take a closer look, taking off from last week’s admonition, comparing our two very potent scriptures.
Matthew 6:22-23 (TPT) – The eyes of your spirit allow revelation-light to enter into your being. If your heart is unclouded, the light floods in! But if your eyes are focused on money, the light cannot penetrate and darkness takes its place. How profound will be the darkness within you if the light of truth cannot enter!
Ephesians 1:17-18 (TPT) –I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him through your deepening intimacy with him. I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling—that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones!
What do you see in these two scriptures, Paul obviously drawing from the Lord’s instruction to His disciples, you and me! Focus on money blocks the eyes of your spirit and you will not experience the full revelation of the hope of His calling! What a miss!
Beloved of the Lord, there is more to the believer’s life than money or what we aspire to in this world! The believers of old were consistent in their witness. They saw it by revelation, they confessed and lived it.
Romans 5:2 (NLT) – Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (TPT) – This is why the Scriptures say: Things never discovered or heard of before, things beyond our ability to imagine—these are the many things God has in store for all his lovers. But God now unveils these profound realities to us by the Spirit. Yes, he has revealed to us his inmost heart and deepest mysteries through the Holy Spirit, who constantly explores all things.
1 Peter 1:2-5 (TPT) – You are not forgotten, for you have been chosen and destined by Father God. The Holy Spirit has set you apart to be God’s holy ones, obedient followers of Jesus Christ who have been gloriously sprinkled with his blood. May God’s delightful grace and peace cascade over you many times over! Celebrate with praises the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has shown us his extravagant mercy. For his fountain of mercy has given us a new life—we are reborn to experience a living, energetic hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.We are reborn into a perfect inheritance that can never perish, never be defiled, and never diminish. It is promised and preserved forever in the heavenly realm for you! Through our faith, the mighty power of God constantly guards us until our full salvation is ready to be revealed in the last time.
Oh, that the Lord will open the eyes of your spirit that you may conform to the testimony of Hebrews 11:10, 13-16.
For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God…These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
This is the time to be free from the culture and aspirations of the world that we all have drunk from. It’s time to seek the Lord until we see what earned the old-time believers the testimony recorded in Hebrews. Shalom.
