Righteousness Found

Continuing from our last posting, that ended describing the benefits or the outflow that accompanies living in righteousness, we learn further from the refrain of Nathaniel Bassey’s Song, Fountain of Mercy which goes thus:

I drink from the fountain of mercy, I soar on the wings of Your grace, I walk through the door of great favour, Your mercy is speaking for me.

Beloved saint, Derek Prince in an article titled Safe Within Your Shield described from Psalm 5:12

**that the favour of the Lord is like a shield that surrounds and protects the (righteous) believer on every side. No matter what difficulties or challenges may be coming against such a one, he can be confident that he is absolutely safe under the Lord’s favour. He deposes further that when we cultivate God’s righteousness, then His favour encircles and protects us like a shield on every side. It shields us against the pressures of life. It comes between us and the forces of evil that seek to destroy us—forces too powerful and cunning for us to deal with in our own strength or wisdom. We have no protection against these forces except the invisible, but also invincible, shield provided for us in the Lord’s favour.

The favour of the Lord also is typified by the cloud of His presence. Proverbs 16:15 says, “In the light of the king’s face is life; and his favour is like a cloud of the latter rain.” So, when you have the favour of God on you, you are walking under the cloud of the latter rain. Brother Derek Prince explained further that if you walk in the favour of the Lord, you are able to impart His blessings to other people (Genesis 12:2). You can take the cloud and the dew of His favour with you wherever you go. What could be a greater privilege than that?

Proverbs 19:12 further tells us: “The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion; but his favour is like dew upon the grass.” So, God’s favour is like a cloud of the latter rain, and it is also like dew on the grass. You never need to be spiritually dry when you are walking under God’s favour!

Every humble child of God who walks under the cloud of His favour is a “rain bringer,” precipitating His grace and His blessings to everybody he comes in contact with. There is a special fragrance about him, a unique presence within him—something overshadowing him that goes everywhere he goes.

The apostle Paul describes these as “the fragrance of Christ” in 2 Corinthians 2:14-15 (KJV)Thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.

God is still searching throughout the earth to find those whose hearts are fully His (2 Chronicles 16:9). When He finds such people, He will show Himself strong on their behalf, manifesting divine favour in and through them for all the world to see—**Adapted from “Safe Within Your Shield” by from Derek Prince

Can we choose to be such people? Our nation needs that! Selah
