Heavenly Wisdom in Interfacing With the World – Romans 12:2

Our theme speaks to the following:

  1. That love demands vulnerability, but be mindful of Matthew 7:6. So to who are you vulnerable?
  2. Note the construct of Romans 12:2 TLB – that the object under consideration is your body, the interface with the world; not your spirit which if in intimacy is subsumed in God’s Spirit, drives the inner man, giving instruction to your soul to pass to the outer-man, your body! It is your body that has the gates that the spirit of the world wants to capture, so it can give instructions to your body and your soul, instructions that counter what your spirit man has laid down.
  3. Chief amongst the gates is the eyes Matthew 6:22-23 (see the rendition of our text Romans 12:2 in the Message Translation)

Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:2 MSG

You can listen to what the spirit is saying, eyes focused on what God says (1 John 2:15-17 MSG) or you can allow your eyes to be blinded with the fashionable offerings of the prince of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4).

People, there is no security in acting just like everyone else neither is there wisdom in copying the behaviour and customs of the world. Download the scripture so your source of renewal is the Spirit of God in you Romans 8:11 (do a complete study of Romans 8:2-11).

As you download, read the scriptures, you are recruiting new nerve cells, rewiring neural connections, reconfiguring your minds. You stop thinking human (world-influenced) thoughts and start thinking God’s thoughts (Philippians 2:5; Colossians 3:16).

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:5

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16

Beloved, through preaching, reading or singing the scriptures, our brains, soul are rewired in alignment with God’s instructions, developing the mind of Christ. We end up doing His will instead of being led by our own. Selah.
