God’s Plan and My Responsibility (Part 1)—Titus 2:11-13

We know for certain that God’s overarching plan is the salvation of every man, their deliverance from sin and Satan and to obtain an inheritance (Acts 26:18; Ephesians 1:11; 1 Peter 1:3-5).

Titus 2:11-13 summarises succinctly this plan in Paul’s letter to Titus, that at its latter end is the inheritance, while in-between:

is the time element during which we are in a world designed to prove the redeemed saints, and mature them fit for that inheritance!

Here’s where Titus 2:11-13 (TPT) speaks—God’s marvelous grace has manifested in person, bringing salvation for everyone. This same grace teaches us how to live each day as we turn our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles, and it equips us to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives in this present age. For we continue to wait for the fulfilment of our hope in the dawning splendour of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus, the Anointed One.

It is reasonable to remind us or ask, how well and by how much have we:

  1. Turned our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles;
  2. Lived self-controlled, upright and godly lives; and
  3. How easy has it been?

For those in the house of our God, as John Bevere explained 1 Peter 4:17, it is all about being assessed as fit or unfit to be in that eternal presence of our Holy Father. The prize is high and the cost of being disqualified, judged as unfit is too great to contemplate. This is what this is all about, have you counted the cost of being disqualified? Selah.
