Can you not see the open manifestation of modern-day Goliath bellowing submission, to fear and intimidation, to subsequent control of the one world government? We are witnessing the accelerating signs of the times and the spiritual battle unfolding before our eyes. From technological overreach:
- in centralised control of your money and associated freedom to buy and sell,
- to challenging the sovereignty of God’s creative powers,
- to media manipulation, election integrity concerns and
- changing of laws (immigrations – as it relates to ancient principles of hospitality to strangers; taxes – return of Romanic oppression; and times). Every government is tightening surveillance of its citizenry for taxation and assuming full control of workers’ retirement and pension schemes (see Daniel 7:25 and Daniel 11:20a (NIV). We see this in the phrase “then you will own nothing but you will be happy.”
Today’s headlines reveal a world moving swiftly toward prophetic fulfilment; and if the Lord does not shorten the times, no one, not even God’s elect will escape the Satanic counterplan to Ephesians 1:10 (NLT). Thank God the days will be shortened to ensure the preservation of the elect, emphasizing God’s mercy and intervention during difficult times. But does this mean that we should live our lives carelessly, oblivious of the times and what the believer needs to do to remain under divine cover?
We’re living in a time when truth is blurred, and culture is leading both old and young people toward confusion and despair. But here’s the good news – kids and teens are searching. In fact, research shows that 80% of children between the ages of 4 and 14 are looking for spiritual truth. Our mission is to help them find the Truth—Jesus Christ.
Bringing it home closer and to your person, consider this excerpt from United Christian Broadcast:
“A survey was taken of Americans over fifty years old, and half of them had less than thirty thousand dollars in their retirement fund. Since we are all living longer, that means
- a lot of people are going to be dependent on the government for their survival, and
- a lot of people who had planned on retiring are going to have to keep working. And this is not just an American problem, it’s a worldwide problem.
So, what should you do? Wisdom demands the need to:
1) Cut back where you can and start saving more. ‘There is desirable treasure… in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man squanders it’ (Proverbs 21:20 NKJV).
2) Find a financial planner to help you assess where you stand, and the level of income and expenses you’re likely to have during retirement. That way, you can customise a plan suited to your financial goals, but more how is such a nest egg kept outside of the prying eyes of the serpent ’government’. ‘In the house of the righteous there is much treasure, but in the revenue of the wicked is trouble’ (Proverbs 15:6 NKJV).
3) Honour God with your finances. ‘Honour the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty’ (Proverbs 3:9-10 NKJV).”
This is the most important counsel, dealing with the stewardship of resources fully taught in Matthew 6:19-21 with questions inherent in this scripture expanded upon in Luke 16:1-15, 19-28; Luke 12:16-21. Therein we find the answers to freedom from worry (Matthew 6:25-34), and
“4) Trust God to take care of you. ‘Don’t worry about these things, saying, “What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?” These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow’ (Matthew 6:31-34 NLT).”
These are preparatory steps to take in anticipation of the Lord’s intervention, and the benefits of consecration of your resources.
