The chorus to a fellowship song goes thus “yes, His love takes good care of me, yes, His love takes good care of me, whether the rain falls, the wind blows, the storm is on the sea, yes, His love does take good care of me.” How real is this when everything is in a state of flux and appears to be out of control?
Such times require that we remember what God’s unchanging nature and faithfulness means for our lives, that your world, your personal world in NOT out of His control. He is not about to change His mind about your salvation and assurance of eternal security if you don’t jump the boat! As the Sovereign Ruler of the universe, no one can frustrate or turn back His hand regarding the plans that He put in place for you long before you were born!
Isaiah 25:1
O LORD, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them.
Isaiah 14:27
The LORD of Heaven’s Armies has spoken— who can change his plans? When his hand is raised, who can stop him?”
Our texts for today demand something of each of us, whatever our circumstance is.
Stay always within the boundaries where God’s love can reach and bless you. Wait patiently for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to give you. Jude 21 (TLB)
Romans 8:35-38 (NLT)
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
Are you keeping within the boundaries where His love can reach you? And the only way you can is made clear to us in John 15:10 (NLT)
When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
As you determinedly walk in obedience to Him, surely His love will take good care of you, prevailing circumstances notwithstanding. Selah.
