At His Feet: The Truly Liberated Woman (Part 2)

Psalm 139:15-16 asserts that He saw you before you were born and

  1. Scheduled every day of your life before you began to breath, and
  2. Recorded every day in His book

He knows every moment and path set out for you; and more, because these were recorded, He cannot forget.

Even for the Moabitess woman upon whose head hung the decree of Deuteronomy 23:3, she changed her lot when she abandoned her nativity and its idols to confess allegiance to the God of the land of Israel (Ruth 1:16-17). Allegiance not only in words but in an act of faith similar to Abraham’s act to go to the land he did not know (Hebrews 11:8b). She opted in a plunge of faith leaving the familiar for the unknown. In so doing, she walked into God’s plan for her life (Isaiah 43:1). Emphasising the attribute of the truly liberated woman in Ruth 2:10, it was while she was kneeling at the feet of Boaz and by asking that Ruth began to get a sense of her position in God (Ruth 2:10-13) and God’s plan for her welfare.

Naomi now aware that God’s favour was opening up for Ruth, instructed her on what to do next (Ruth 3:2-4) effectively demonstrating that intimacy starts with staying at His feet. Ruth started at Boaz’s feet and ended up at his side and produced the lineage of David upon whose throne our risen Lord will sit.

Do you know the dynamics of intimacy with God that produces a life in line with His plans? So do as admonished in 1 Peter 5:6, humble yourself and see if He will not exalt you in His time. Selah.
