Are You Living In Self-Denial?

That obvious debilitating infirmity (or sin) that holds you bound, yet you bold-facedly deny its existence, only puts you in internal torment! Such is the case of the blind Pharisees who pretend that they are not blind. The Lord Jesus illustrated this in the story in John 9.

And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.John 9:39-41

The greatest achievement of Satan is successfully persuading those who he blinded that they are not blind! (2 Cor. 4:4).

Some may be blind but are not begging, but this blind man was a beggar from birth, he couldn’t be blamed, akin to the sin nature that by heredity became us! But such was the kindness of God that the power of the substitutionary death of Christ dealt with that; hence what Jesus stated in John 9:1-7.

And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. John 9:1-7

In the miracle recorded in John 9, and exercising the creative anointing, Jesus replicated Genesis 2:7-8, and openly showed He was God!

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.Genesis 2:7-8

John 9:39-41 brings us to us today, for the blind that is in self-denial. You carry on a front pretending that everything is alright, yet it is not! If you are blind, there must be no self-denial; your admission of your blindness is your first step to getting help and deliverance (Luke 18:35-43 (TPT).

Your continued self-denial also shuts the door of help to you. You remain spiritually blind. For those who openly call for help, accompanying grace will empower you to live in freedom from sin:

God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:13 (TPT)

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.Philippians 2:13 (NLT)

Now may the God who brought us peace by raising from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ so that he would be the Great Shepherd of his flock; and by the power of the blood of the eternal covenant may he work perfection into every part of you giving you all that you need to fulfill your destiny. And may he express through you all that is excellent and pleasing to him through your life-union with Jesus the Anointed One who is to receive all glory forever! Amen! Hebrews 13:20-21 (TPT)

Now may the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood— may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.Hebrews 13:20-21 (NLT)

Jesus did it in the woman caught in adultery, He did in Paul and He is working the same in me! As He asked Blind Bartimaeus, He is asking you, Are you blind? Do you want to see? (Mark 10:51; Luke 18:41). Come to Him fully recognising His open arms and heart to deliver. Shalom.

Thank you so much Sir. Sir. If one has an habit that is not sinful but it is offensive to others, for example laziness, anger, loose tongue etc must one repent from such, since it is a natural disposition that comes with our adamic nature.
