Analogy of Nation Building from Proverbs 29 (LXX)

As we mourn the unabated massacre of the innocent and the weak across the middle belt of Nigeria, we need to understand what is driving this unrelenting wickedness. Where a nation tolerates and abounds in sin, light to guide is taken away and it continues to wallow in darkness.

There shall be no interpreter to a sinful nation: but he that observes the law is blessed. Proverbs 29:18 (LXX).

This is deeper than the oft interpretation—that where there is no vision the people perish. Yes, they perish, but there is a festering unaddressed cause! Deal with sin, injustice and inequity meted on the people, and let it start with the king-leader stopping by discerning and rejecting unjust language (counsel); otherwise it boils over to all subjects turning them to transgressors (verse 12).

The story and path of a nation is defined in Proverbs 29:16 (LXX)—when the ungodly abounds, sin abounds; but when they fall the righteous are warned.

The media publication on HW if true, is proof that though evil acts be hidden by glamour and praise of men, the Owner of time who sees both the creditor and the debtor will reveal and punish every hidden work of wickedness in HIS time (Proverbs 29:13).

When the creditor and debtor meet together, the Lord oversees them both. Proverbs 29:13 LXX

The excerpt below from United Christian Broadcasters speaks further on this:

“A pastor writes: ‘The second law of thermodynamics states this physical truth: If left to their own devices, everything in the universe moves towards disorder and decay. Cars rust. Food rots… It’s also called the law of entropy. And the only way to prevent entropy is to introduce an outside energy source to counteract it. The technical term for this is negentropy. And the refrigerator is a good example. You plug it into an electrical outlet, and it produces cold air that keeps food from rotting. If the refrigerator gets disconnected from its energy source, entropy will take over again. And things will get smelly. Isn’t that what happens when we get disconnected from God? Life moves towards decay and disorder. So how do we overcome our entropic tendencies?… [Solomon answers,].”Where there is no vision the people perish.” If sin is entropy, then investing our energies in a God-sized vision is negentropy. The word perish comes from the Hebrew word para, and “entropy” is a fair translation.’

Perhaps many church problems don’t come from an abundance of sin but rather from a lack of vision? We’re not suggesting that there aren’t sin problems or that those problems don’t need to be dealt with, but in too many instances, there isn’t enough vision to keep churches busy. Our vision isn’t big enough to demand all our energies, so we focus on petty problems to keep us busy. The same is true on a personal level. If we had a larger vision of what God wanted to accomplish in us and through us, our problems would diminish because we are consumed by a cause greater than ourselves.”

Hence if the people and rulers are held bound under the forces of darkness, are there not a people with light who can supplicate until the Spirit of the breaker breaks the yoke (Luke 4:18c-d)? This is not supplicating for bread and butter but for freedom from the yoke of the ruling princes of darkness wrecking havoc over Nigeria (see Micah 2:13).

The Breaker [the Messiah] will go up before them. They will break through, pass in through the gate and go out through it, and their King will pass on before them, the Lord at their head. Micah 2:13 AMPC

Then I, God, will burst all confinements and lead them out into the open. They’ll follow their King. I will be out in front leading them. Micah 2:13 MSG

This is a promise fulfilled, waiting to be activated again by me and you who are beneficiaries of the salvation brought by Christ, by prayer and witnessing. He will act by our witness. He will bring victory over obstacles to declare breakthrough; He will bring deliverance from mental, spiritual and physical constraints. There is encouragement that the Lord is at hand, actively clearing the path in difficult times. Selah.
