Romans 10:9 reveals that the heart believes unto righteousness having received the seed of righteousness implanted by receiving Christ into the life (John 1:12-13); bringing to fulfilment (Isaiah 61:3).
If you have received Christ into your heart, you are:
- tree of righteousness, and
- a planting of the Lord, not of the world, nor of Satan (Matthew 15:13-14)
Just as a tree brings forth fruit (Matthew 12:33-38), a tree of righteousness provides fruit of righteousness (Matthew 23:28).
From that moment that you received this seed of God’s righteousness, you have taken on the responsibility to feed that seed of the spirit with the food of the spirit, the word of God. Your heart and life are transformed by that word, making it the source that produces the fruit of righteousness (Philippians 1:10-11).
That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:10-11
O child of God, only the right teachings founded upon the word of God hid in your heart produces the fruit of righteousness. This is the way you work out your salvation with fear and with trembling! Have you established your life on the word of God, not the doctrines of men? Remember, whatsoever is not divinely established has no lasting power. As you love righteousness and despise iniquity, so are you lifted up above your fellows. Shalom.
