As I ponder the words of our text scripture in Matthew 7:11, and Paul’s testimony recorded in Romans 8:31-32, one questions why do we ever entertain the thought of our prayers not being answered?
Am I so fixated on what I think the answers should be that I become blind to what He answers? The children of Israel lusted, not asked, for what they were familiar with in Egypt (Exodus 16:2-3) and despite their wrong approach of not appreciating the presence and the goodness of Yahweh Elohim, He provided what was best for them; and they did not recognise it (Exodus 16:12-15). He gave them the bread of heaven not the bread of Egypt. Oh, that we do not despise Him nor limit Him whose ways are higher than ours and whose thoughts are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9 TLB).
Oh, can you see the glory of the Lord all over His children who know His heart of love towards them? Those who do not soon see their short-lived success shrivel up and quickly fade away, like grass clippings in the hot sun. But you dear saint must keep:
- Trusting in the Lord and do what is right in His eyes;
- Fix your heart on the promises of God, and you will dwell in the land, feasting on His faithfulness;
- Find your delight and true pleasure in Yahweh, and He will give you what you desire the most.
Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way, you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly! He will appear as your righteousness, as sure as the dawning of a new day. He will manifest as your justice, as sure and strong as the noonday sun. Quiet your heart in his presence and wait patiently for Yahweh. And don’t think for a moment that the wicked, in their prosperity, are better off than you. Psalm 37:2-7 TPT
The The Living Bible translation states the same as:
Soon they fade away like grass and disappear. Trust in the Lord instead. Be kind and good to others; then you will live safely here in the land and prosper, feeding in safety. Be delighted with the Lord. Then he will give you all your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it, and he will. Your innocence will be clear to everyone. He will vindicate you with the blazing light of justice shining down as from the noonday sun. Rest in the Lord; wait patiently for him to act. Don’t be envious of evil men who prosper. Psalm 37:2-7 TLB
Think on this.
