We conclude these thoughts on the responsibilities of both the minister and the congregant with these pointed warnings:
Seek not, neither be carried away by the approval of men
What sorrows await those of you who are always honored and lauded by others, for that’s how your forefathers treated every false prophet. Luke 6:26 TPT
Beware for the Lord set the standard in John 5:41-44, practically spoken to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15
I do not accept the honor that comes from men, for I know what kind of people you really are, and I can see that the love of God has found no home in you. I have come to represent my Father, yet you refuse to embrace me in faith. If someone comes in their own name and with their own agenda, you readily accept him. Of course you’re unable to believe in me. For you live to enjoy the praises of others and not the praise that comes from the one true God. John 5:41-44 TPT
Turn away from the accolades and approval of men, it disposes you to unscriptural acts toward those who will oppose you, for there will be many. Heed the instructions from the Lord in Luke 6:26 and definitely avoid being obsessed with the praise of men but live by the admonition in 2 Timothy 2:15
Always be eager to present yourself before God (not men) as a perfect and mature minister, without shame, as one who correctly explains the Word of Truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 TPT
