And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? Mark 16:1-3
Driven by their commitment and devotion to the Lord who turned their lives around, the three women in our text headed to the tomb where our Lord Jesus Christ was laid. Laden with the heavy spices, the sudden realization of who will move the stone was not enough to turn them back; and suddenly they saw that the stone had been moved!
In the day of trouble, do not despise the ability and capacity of God, the all-seeing and all-knowing God, to intervene. Entering the sepulcher, they became the first to hear and spread the news, the good news of the risen Lord and Saviour.
Are you sufficiently burdened by what is uppermost in the heart of God, being His ambassadors of reconciliation? (2 Cor.5:19-20). Then do not let any external or personal limitations deter you. Until you step out, you never know what you can achieve with His abiding presence.
