Encouragement For True Shepherds Facing Trials—Isaiah 42:3a (Part 2)

So, what music does the shepherd make? And for whom? The music from the reed is made to soothe the sheep and calm the troubled ones

**Jesus does not break and toss out the torn, bruised, and broken. He is and will always be a repairer of breaches. Such is the music that the following scriptures represent. If this season finds you torn and broken, take heart…there is a Good Shepherd who will not cast you aside.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 10:11

Our brokenness does not repel the Good Shepherd. Our bruises do not offend Him. In fact, He was bruised for us, bore our grief and carried our pain. The chastisement of our peace is upon Him.

Surely, he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5

The Good Shepherd will not break a bruised reed. Jesus is in the mending business! — **Culled from Discipled By Design

More still. Are you a broken reed? Are you no longer able to make sweet music in the service of the Lord? Are you so bruised that your mind, heart and soul feel you are no longer good for any use, reflect on this scripture — A bruised reed shall he not break.

Come to Him, bringing your bruised mind, soul and mind, He still wants to use you, so you can make music for this broken world! Paul and Silas were beaten and bruised, cast into prison and their feet put in chains; yet at midnight they prayed and sang to the hearing of other prisoners. Acts 16:25-31. The Master put a song in their mouths to sing during the suffering and see the deliverance they wrought in the lives of the jailer and his household. Would you allow the fire of suffering and trial bring such sweet songs from your heart? Remember, A bruised reed shall he not break.

The Great Shepherd has not ruled you out, why rule yourself out! Remember Luke 9:62

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Shalom
