Several of the parables of Matthew 13 spoke of the stages or profiles of the Church over time. Speaking to the parable of the mustard seed, the seed being simultaneously the word of the faith of Christ, its spread over the world was to be in the similitude of the way the mustard shrub grows over wherever it is planted. Little wonder that the early church grew in small units or small assemblies all over the places the apostles took the word.

Where did the megachurches come from? The are not the original pattern and came with the corruption of organising under commercial or business empire building! They became corrupted with strange materialist doctrines that we see today; and with them as with the net that had gathered all sorts (Matthew 13:47-50), drawing attention to a point of where we will all be judged.

The reality we all face today relates to the direction that the word coming from pulpits, the instructions, teachings and lifestyle is driving God’s end time gospel army. Compare Joel 2:28-29 (possible extension to verse 32) with Acts 2:17-18 (possible extension to verse 21).

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. Joel 2:28-29

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. Acts 2:17-18

Is the direction towards Acts 2:17-18 or towards 2 Timothy 3:1-5? Judge yourselves for the end is at hand. Then can you personally say, it is finished? Paul confidently declared the same in 2 Timothy 4:7-8 viz 1 Corinthians 15:32 or perhaps what will be your end in the light of Matthew 7:21-23. Selah.
