The Lord Jesus declared in John 14:23 and John 15:10.
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:23
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. John 15:10
There is the keeping of His word, the proof of our love for Him, and abiding in the same to abide in that love. But a man can only keep what he knows and has a pursuant and consistent hunger for, and turns to at all times.
Study and pray for the spirit of Psalm 119 to teach you. And it comes with indescribable benefits. For illustration let’s take just two of the 23 sections.
- Aleph Section 1 Verses 1-9 speaks to the blessedness of those who keep His testimony because they will be undefiled in THE way! Compare John 14:6 and you will appreciate the desperation captured in the rendition or verses in this section
- Lamed Section 2 treats the dependability of the God we serve evidenced in the created heavens, a constant witness. God commands to understand that He is a covenant keeper (Genesis 15:5-6; Jeremiah 31:35-37) then can we understand the import of Romans 1:20. He is all around us, how can His word fail?
Will you give time for an in-depth study of Psalm 119? Your life and knowing of your God will be for the better. Selah.
