Have you ever thought deeply about the Lord’s statement before Pilate in John 18:33-36?

Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me? Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. John 18:33-36

Although the fight today is not about His being delivered to the Jews, but there is a clear assertion that His servants will fight, this time for the kingdom. Inherent in Matthew 6:10 and Luke 11:2b is a fight, so is it also implied in Matthew 11:12, speaking to being spiritually zealous and no passivity and an acute awareness that the gates of hell will battle against the building of the church! His servants will fight for His kingdom, but which? earthly or heavenly servants?

Earthly servants fight to sustain an earthly kingdom but for the elect saint, though located now on earth, the fight and contention is against spiritual forces and NOT with man-made weapons. This was taught clearly in Matthew 26:52-53 and Luke 22:36-38.

This is a clarion call to all true believers to be physically ready for danger and persecution and fight using the spiritual weaponry spoken to in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 and Ephesians 6:11-18 – with weapons of righteousness, faith, the word in declaration and prayers and all supplications always in alignment with God’s will and objective for the occasion, and the spoken word as the sword for contention (Romans 8:31-39).

Are you sleeping or contending that the will of God be done on earth as it is in heaven? Selah
