Would you please patiently go through each of these scriptures to get the full context of the message being conveyed regarding what is the divine appropriate use of the mouth and what is not?
- Joshua 1:8
- Proverbs 18:7; Proverbs 10:14b, Proverbs 26:28; Proverbs 12:13, 14a; Proverbs 13:3
- Ecclesiastes 10:11-14 (the wise versus the foolish)
- Ecclesiastes 5:1-6
- Psalm 45:2 (a prayer worth praying); Isaiah 50:4
Peter had a tendency to talk when he should have been listening and got into things he had no business getting into. He needed to learn how to wait on God and exercise humility and discernment. What great plans God had for him, but he was a hinderance by chopping of people’s ears when they upset him.
Don’t fly off the handle when you feel like it. Be sensitive to God’s Spirit, if He tells you to say nothing, be quiet even if it means letting someone think they are right when you know they are wrong. You can hinder your spiritual growth or God’s blessings in your life if you do not control what you say. It takes a disciplined heart to speak the word of God, the only thing that gives the right results. Selah.
