Understanding The Power of Divine Dependence (Part 1)—Psalm 16:1-5

To those who think they have reasons to resent God, ponder on this conversation between David and Yawheh Elohim:

Keep me safe, O mighty God. I run to you, my safe place. I said to Yahweh, “You are my Maker and my Master. Any good thing you find in me has come from you.” And he said to me, “My holy lovers in the land are my glorious ones, who fulfill all my desires.” Yet there are those who yield to their weakness, and they will have unending troubles. I never gather with such ones, nor give them honor in any way. Yahweh, you alone are my inheritance. You are my prize, my pleasure, and my portion. You hold my destiny and its timing in your hands. Psalm 16:1-5 (TPT)

Keep and protect me, O God, for in You I have found refuge, and in You do I put my trust and hide myself. I say to the Lord, You are my Lord; I have no good beside or beyond You. As for the godly (the saints) who are in the land, they are the excellent, the noble, and the glorious, in whom is all my delight. Their sorrows shall be multiplied who choose another god; their drink offerings of blood will I not offer or take their names upon my lips. The Lord is my chosen and assigned portion, my cup; You hold and maintain my lot. Psalm 16:1-5 (AMPC)

David’s conversation was not one of weakness, but a realisation of the power and faithfulness of His creator; He is yours too. The easiest people to find around are complainers and grumblers and unsuspectingly we join them! Why fall prey to such? Be sober, be vigilant for your adversary the devil, walks about, like a roaring lion (very loud, the nature of complainers!) seeking whom he may devour. Resist them, walk away from them for you are not the same.  Selah.
