How Do We Please God?—Philippians 3:12 (TPT); Psalm 143:10

Having dealt with the things that displease God, let’s look at what should be the ultimate objective in the life of every elect of God, pleasing God.

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory, honor, and power, for you created all things, and for your pleasure they were created and exist. Revelation 4:11 (TPT)

Every elect seeking to please God must run within the boundaries of Christ’s abundance to reach the purpose for which Christ chose us to be His own. We do not depend on our own strength to accomplish His (Philippians 2:13).

For it is God who revitalizes/empowers me, implanting within me the passion to do what pleases Him (to accomplish the good things I desire to do) (see Philippians 2:13 (TPT)).

If we understand this as fundamental, then we must:

  1. Seek God’s direction for every situation which arises, no kneejerk reactions! Proverbs 3:6; Psalm 32:8,
  2. Get into proper spiritual alignment for God is aligning His people, putting together those who will stand as one in the day of battle (Malachi 3:16-17). It is imperative to know who you go into battle with, and you discover such in the time of testing,
  3. Fight using God’s words not yours! God’s breathed words found in the Scriptures are your strength in the days of testing as demonstrated by the Lord in Luke 4. Our only weapon of attack is the word of God,
  4. Don’t be unduly introspective, let the Holy Spirit help you search out your heart for He knows our hearts and minds (John 16:8-15) and brings out the corrections needed (1 John 3:20-21; 1 Corinthians 4:3-4 (NLT), except when it is assessing whether I am still in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5-7), and
  5. Guard your mind-gate, make your mind a walled city (Proverbs 4:23). Your heart translated from the Hebrew word “levau” includes our thoughts, our wills, our discernment and our affections.

Take heed to these things. Shalom.

We must daily personally earnestly seek from the scriptures how to please God for the purpose of motivating our passion to embrace it.
