What response do unmet righteous expectation generate in us?
Which:
- Black man seeing the perpetual and systemic injustice inflicted across the world on blacks will not feel riled to counter-reaction?
- Igbo man who saw and suffered from the pogrom and horrors of the 1966 Civil War can forget and not reflect on rights abused and taken away; or
- Nigerian Middle Belt/North West Nigerian Christian seeing daily killings, maiming and raping by Fulanis/Shuwa Arabs seemingly condoned by ruling authorities will not cry for justice; or
- Hard working tax payer, reeling under the ever-increasing pain inflicted daily by poor infrastructure while the politicians play the proverbial Nero, with their conspicuous affluent living in the ocean of poverty, will not curse?
O, child of God, don’t be sucked in because our God knows.

And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and He alone on the land. And He saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night He cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. Mark 6:47-48
I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. Revelation 2:13.
Beware lest we fall victim of Satan’s old trick as played on Eve, that God is a liar who does not live up to His word, that Psalm 89:14, Psalm 12:5 and Psalm 103:19 don’t hold anymore.
Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face. Psalm 89:14
For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him. Psalm 12:5
The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. Psalm 103:19
Let us put down the questioning spirit as Paul admonished in 2 Corinthians 10:4b –5, and Peter counselled in 1 Peter 4:19 lest we end up in rebellion against Him who saved us from the wrath to come. Jeremiah 12:5 describes what is yet to come.
If racing against mere men makes you tired,
how will you race against horses?
If you stumble and fall on open ground,
what will you do in the thickets near the Jordan? Jeremiah 12:5 NLT
It is time to lift up our eyes as Christ said.
So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near! Luke 21:28 NLT

That’s the word. However imperative and needful these agitations in the world may seem, they are not the believer’s calling. Our hope and our expectation is the Coming of the Lord and His Kingdom. Thanks and God bless you, sir.
