Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly. Psalm 119:1-8
Psalm 119:1-3 suggests that you can be in the way and be defiled! Knowing that, and recognizing that obedience to God is the only way to blessings we must be obedient to the principle of Christ in the face of mistreatment, not fight back – Matthew 5:11; Luke 6:22. These are words to be put to heart by many a brave confessor at such times as this of persecution at the hands of strong and far-reaching governments as we are beginning to experience. It will yet get worse. Are we prepared?
Please note the consistency of this counsel –
Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways (Psalm 128:1),
That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God (Ezekiel 11:20),
That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live (Ezekiel 18:17).
Will obedience to our God in every area of our lives in the face of persecution be our mantra? Difficult times are here, who will stand? Selah
