We must always think of David as a figure of the church, because he personifies the church that entered within the veil.

For about 10 years David triumphed mightily as he maintained his abiding place on the holy hill.

The nations conquered by David – 2 Sam 5;7-10, 2 Sam 8:11-15.
Ancient demons and their New Testament equivalents
• Phillistia – speaks of envy and hatred
• Moab – speaks of pride and anger – prov 19:11 (nlt)
• Edom – speaks of bitterness and resentfulness
• Babylon – speaks of confusion
• Egypt – speaks of worldliness
• Assyria – stoutness of heart and cruelty
• Amalek – speaks of the lust of the flesh

The Spirit of David
To have the spirit of David you must conquer these enemies (ancient demons) which reside in the realm of the old Adamic nature and the realm of the spirit.
When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:19-21 NLT.

To have the spirit of David you must have the 7 spirits of God rested upon you.
Christ reigns through His crucified ones- 2 Tim 2:12, Rom 16:20; Psa 18:37-38
This was Christ’s example and we should follow suit- Gal 2:20
God was tired of sacrifices and offerings and wanted something better Heb 10:5, 19-20
Priesthood and kingship – 1 Pet 2:5, 1 Pet 2:9, Rev 1:6, Rev 5:20, Heb 6 :12
No priesthood no kingship
The priestly aspect involves suffering and sacrifices
The kingly aspect involves authority and rulership
David crossed the forbidden line of being both a king and a priest in the Old Testament speaking to the better things that god had in store for us-we are such a privileged generation.
Don’t settle for less!

Comments on Love
We are not commanded to demand love; we are commanded to love (evaluate yourself, not somebody else).

God loves us not as we want, but as He wants – He is love and knows best how to love us.
For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom Hhe receiveth (Heb 12: 8).

Love is not melancholy – the love of God is widely accepted, but wrongly understood. But the error is not just among unbelievers, for many Christians also have a very distorted concept of God’s love.

Action/inaction is not enough indices to judge true love; what determines true love are the eternal consequences of our actions.

The end point of God’s love is to make us be like Him
