An expression of TCBC to show love
Gospel of Compassion works to share the Gospel of Christ by showing love and compassion to those in need. We do these by locating the needy within our communities and by partnering with organizations that Minister to the needy in our communities.
James 1:27 - Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
The dictionary defines Compassion as this phrase, “to suffer together.” Emotion researchers, defined it as the feeling that arises when you are confronted with another’s suffering and feel motivated to relieve that suffering. To understand Compassion as God intended, we must look to the greatest love story ever documented, from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation. We are presented with a God that designed a world for our benefit only for us to throw it away by sinning against Him. He could have stopped there and just reset but He did not. He pursued us and granted us access to a relationship with Him by sacrificing His son Jesus Christ for all; and by the shed blood of Christ, God is available to all who are willing to choose the life He offers. That is compassion, when someone who knew no sin became sin for us and died on a cross so that we could have life eternal with God! Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Throughout the scripture, we are shown the picture of Jesus who despite being weary from his travels and teachings, unwaveringly showing amazing compassion for the lost, for the sick, for the hungry and for the entire world. It is this example of Christ that inspires us to pray and seek to have greater compassion for others. This is the inspiration that birth the Gospel of Compassion. We are on a mission to preach God’s love and brighten the lives of the sick and less privileged. We worship and praise God using songs, dance, drama and spoken words while raising funds for causes as God leads us.
